The volumes

Five books of about 450 pages, 7 x 10 inches, in Italian. Each one stands on its own; together they go from the single sample to the complete station. The table of contents of each volume, chapter by chapter and with the writing status, is in the documentation (in Italian).

Volume 1 — Digital signal processing

Sampling and aliasing measured and heard, quantization, complex numbers and I/Q signals, decibels and noise; the DFT written by hand and the FFT, windows, the real-time spectrum with spectrogram and waterfall, correlation, tone detectors and the sliding DFT; FIR filters by windowing and by Remez, the five IIR families, band transformations, all-pass filters and the 90° network, fixed-point stability, decimation and resampling, Hilbert and complex filters; then noise, voice and three complete projects. Volume 2 — Telecommunications and software defined radio

AM, FM and SSB; digital transmission, synchronization and error-correcting codes (CRC, convolutional, Viterbi, Reed-Solomon); amateur modes, from AX.25 packet and APRS to FT8; the complete SDR receiver and digital amateur television. Volume 2 contents.

Volume 3 — Satellites: orbits, tracking and ground station

Orbital elements, SGP4 and SDP4 rewritten from the sources, passes, Doppler, the rotator and the ground station for amateur satellites and weather images. Volume 3 contents.

Volume 4 — Microstrip microwaves: design

Lines, the Smith chart, matching, filters, couplers, amplifiers and oscillators, with formulas and the circuit simulator, up to the printed board and the VNA measurement. Volume 4 contents.

Volume 5 — Planar electromagnetic simulation

The method of moments and the finite-difference time-domain method written by hand, checked against formulas and measurements, patch antennas and the complete bench from schematic to VNA. Volume 5 contents.
